A summary of the resource.
Bulk SrMnOx samples with oxygen contents 2.5pxo2.7 have been studied using a combination of neutron time-of-flight and highenergy high-resolution synchrotron X-ray diffraction measurements along with thermogravimetric analysis. We report the identification and characterization of two new oxygen-vacancy ordered phases, Sr5Mn5O13 (SrMnO2.6-tetragonal P4/m a¼ 8.6127(3)A ˚ , c ¼ 3.8102(2)A ˚ ) and Sr7Mn7O19 (SrMnO2.714-monoclinic P2/m a¼ 8.6076(4)A ˚ , b ¼ 12.1284(4)A ˚ , c ¼ 3.8076(2)A ˚ , g ¼ 98.203(2)1). The nuclear and magnetic structures of Sr2Mn2O5 are also reported (SrMnO2.5 nuclear: orthorhombic Pbam, magnetic: Orthorhombic Ay type Pcbam with cM ¼ 2c). In the three phases, oxygen-vacancies are ordered in lines running along one of the (100) directions of the parent cubic perovskite system. Oxygen-vacancy ordering allows the charge and orbital ordering of the Mn3+ and Mn4+ cations in the new phases.

<p>Se hace cultivo de tejido vegetal, tomando como matrial rodajas de Daucus Carota, que se siembra en tubos de ensayo, Erlembeyer y cajas de Petri, utilizando técnicas y medios de cultivos aconsejados por Gautheret, con el propósito de hacer fisiología y genética vegetal con orientación bioquímica.</p>
<p>Dada la contaminación ambiental de nuestro medio partiendo de implementos y medios de cultivo esterilizados por autoclave las manipulaciones de siembra, repicados y cierre de los recipientes , se hace dentro de cámara provista de dos tubos estéril lamp. Westinghouse, habiéndose determinado que para su esteriización es suficiente la radiación de ultravioleta durante 15 minutos.</p>
<p>Se hacen cinco series de cultivos que son repicados a los sesenta y nueve y ochenta y un día de siembra.</p>
<p>Macroscópicamente de siete a nueve días se observa el crecimiento de la zona de tejido cambial en brotos color blanquesino que pasan al verde por acción de la luz.</p>
<p>Se hace histología en cortes sin colorear, reacciones microquímicas y tinción con técnica Carmín-Verde iodo, modificada diluyendo al tercio la mezcla colorante y reduciendo a un minuto el tiempo de coloración.</p>
<p>Las observaciones revelan similitud morfológica y química del tejido neoformando con el originario y se superponen a la descripción citológica de Gautheret (6) 1938.</p>
<p>La diferenciación está representada por la anarquía del ordenamiento celular, que en algunos aspectos objetivamente modifica la representación química de sus constituyentes, aunque no afecta las etapas evolutivas del crecimiento tisular presentes en el tejido normal originario.</p>

A summary of the resource.
<p>The dehydration of several sugars, including pentoses, hexoses, di, tri, and polysaccharides, in ionic liquids with acidic ion-exchange resins as heterogeneous catalysts was investigated. Good 2‐furaldehydes recovery yields, reaching 92% in some cases, were achieved when Dowex® 50W ion‐exchange resins and 1‐n‐butyl‐3‐ methylimidazoliumchloride ([C4mim]Cl)were used. Our results show that this aproach could represent a promising route towards the cost-efficient production of 2-furaldehydes from carbohydrate-based feedstocks</p>

Con este trabajo se pretendió obtener sensores para adquisición de imágenes digitales de radiación X y γ a temperatura ambiente, con área de al menos 2” x 2”, basados en films cristalinos de semiconductores compuestos. En principio se estudia BiI3 como material para dichos sensores porque tiene propiedades físicas que lo hacen apropiado como sensor de radiaciones a temperatura ambiente, y también adecuadas para crecer un film. El trabajo comienza con la síntesis del BiI3 a partir de subcarbonato de bismuto y yoduro de potasio. Luego de esto se busca identificar las impurezas por absorción atómica con “inductively coupled plasma” (ICP), y optimizar un método para su reducción al nivel de ppb. También se determina la estequiometría del compuesto en sus distintas etapas de purificación mediante volumetría. El paso siguiente es el crecimiento de los films cristalinos sobre sustratos adecuados para, en el paso final, obtener imágenes digitales. Se utilizan como sustrato vidrio, vidrio paladizado y vidrio recubierto con óxido de estaño e indio (ITO). Los films se crecen por el método de deposición física de vapor (physical vapor deposition, PVD). Si bien para obtener imágenes digitales es suficiente tener films policristalinos, la experiencia indica que serán mejores films orientados o epitaxiales. Por tanto, se tiende a lograr el crecimiento de estos dos tipos de estructuras, y para ello se estudian los procesos de nucleación y coalescencia de los films. Sobre las mejores nucleaciones coalescidas se crecen films. Luego que un film ha crecido es necesario caracterizarlo. Se comienza por determinar sus propiedades físicas (perfilometría, microscopía óptica, de barrido electrónico (SEM) y de fuerzas atómicas (AFM) para estudiar su superficie, y difracción de rayos X, de polvo para estudiar su orientación). Después se determinan sus propiedades eléctricas mediante la construcción de detectores. También se mide la respuesta de los detectores a la radiación X. Por último se comparan los resultados obtenidos con los reportados para la obtención de imágenes con dispositivos alternativos.

La presente tesis de maestría en Química fue desarrollada en el Área Radiofarmacia del Centro de Investigaciones Nucleares, Facultad de Ciencias. El proyecto consistió en el desarrollo de un potencial radiofármaco terapéutico 177Lu-DOTA –anti-CD20 para el tratamiento del Linfoma No-Hodgkin (LNH) en base al radioisótopo Lutecio 177 (177Lu). El LNH comprende un 5% de todas las neoplasias y causa aproximadamente el 3.4% de todas las muertes por cáncer. El anticuerpo monoclonal Rituximab® reconoce al antígeno de superficie CD20 de los linfocitos B. Este anticuerpo se utiliza en el tratamiento del LNH CD20 positivo. Actualmente, además del Rituximab® se encuentra aprobado por la FDA el uso del anticuerpo anti-CD20 asociado con emisores beta (131I, 90Y), los cuales potencian su efecto e incrementan su efectividad terapéutica. Para el desarrollo del 177Lu-DOTA –anti-CD20 se derivatizó el anticuerpo con el ligante bifuncional DOTA y se estudiaron y optimizaron las condiciones para su conjugación. Posteriormente el conjugado se marcó con 177Lu y se realizaron estudios químicos y biológicos de modo de corroborar la integridad biológica del anticuerpo marcado así como su estabilidad. Se realizaron estudios de dosimetría interna y de simulación Monte Carlo de forma de poder obtener un perfil dosimétrico del radiofármaco, además de poder inferir potenciales aplicaciones dependiendo de la geometría y tamaño tumoral. El 177Lu-DOTA–anti-CD20 se obtuvo en forma rápida y sencilla, el radioconjugado resultó ser estable tanto in vitro como in vivo manteniendo sus propiedades químicas y biológicas, con un perfil dosimétrico adecuado para su potencia utilización en clínica.

<p>In the search for new therapeutic tools against Chagas' disease (American Trypanosomiasis) four novel mixed-ligand vanadyl complexes, [V(IV)O(L(2)-2H)(L(1))], including a bidentate polypyridyl DNA intercalator (L(1)) and a tridentate salycylaldehyde semicarbazone derivative (L(2)) as ligands were synthesized, characterized by a combination of techniques, and in vitro evaluated. EPR suggest a distorted octahedral geometry with the tridentate semicarbazone occupying three equatorial positions and the polypyridyl ligand coordinated in an equatorial/axial mode. Both complexes including dipyrido[3,2-a: 2',3'-c]phenazine (dppz) as polypyridyl coligand showed IC(50) values in the muM range against Dm28c strain (epimastigotes) of Trypanosoma cruzi, causative agent of the disease, being as active as the anti-trypanosomal reference drug Nifurtimox. To get an insight into the trypanocidal mechanism of action of these compounds, DNA was evaluated as a potential parasite target and EPR, and (51)V NMR experiments were also carried out upon aging aerated solutions of the complexes. Data obtained by electrophoretic analysis suggest that the mechanism of action of these complexes could include DNA interactions.</p>

<p>Con objeto de determinar cuantitativamente y en forma simultánea sodio, potasio y calcio, en muestras únicas de feldespatos, del orden del miligramo, se ponen en marcha dos técnicas. Una de ellas utiliza espectrofotometría de llama y la otra espectrografía de arco.</p>
<p>La primera, de manipulación más simple que la segunda, permite determinar los porcentajes en óxido con un error máximo del 25 %, y un error promedial de 15 %.</p>
<p>La segunda (con "standard interno" y "buffer espectrográfico") da un error máximo que oscila entre 30% y 40 % según el elemento. El error promedial es del 20 %. Esta última, trabajando con triplicados (cuando se dispone de muestra suficiente) permite errores del orden del 6% al 10%.</p>
<p>En muestras de este orden (1 mg), en general, no se puede esperar más que un semicuantitativo, pues aunque se buscan coponentes mayores, dada la pequeñez de la muestra, el problema equivale a una determinación de trazas. Esto hace que los resultados obtenidos se pueden considerar aceptables, si no se dispone de medios técnicos más adecuados.</p>

<p>The aim of the present work was to develop asensory qualityindex for the appearance and odour of <strong>strawberries</strong> based on consumerperception. Six samples of strawberries with different degrees of ripeness and deterioration were evaluated by a trained <strong>sensory</strong> panel and aconsumer panel. Using principal component analysis, the <strong>sensory quality</strong> of strawberries was defined by two indices, one related to the sensory deterioration and another related to the intensity of desirable sensory attributes. As expected, consumer acceptability and intention to purchase strawberries decreased as sensory deterioration index increased and desirable attributes index decreased. Asensoryqualityindex was calculated by correlating consumer acceptability scores with the aforementioned indices. This index allows objective evaluation of the sensoryquality of <strong>strawberries</strong> using a trained assessors panel. Limits for this index could be used in quality control programs or to estimate sensory shelf life of strawberries. The methodology applied in the present work could be applied to other products in order to develop appropriate sensory quality indices based on <strong>consumer perception</strong>.</p>

Abstract
A summary of the resource.
The development of new electrochemical immunosensors for the detection of environmental contaminants is of great interest due to their simplicity, high sensitivity, and extended analytical range. Because of the antibody is immobilized on the electrode, it is important to determine its loss of reactivity after immobilization. In this work, two aspects were addressed. First, we developed a new methodology based on electrochemical impedance (EI) to determine the kinetic parameters associated with immunoreactions carried out on the electrode. Second, an electrochemical immunosensor based on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIE) was developed to determine microcystin-LR in drinking water samples. Microcystin-LR determination was based on a label-free non-competitive immunoassay. The electrochemical immunosensor shows a limit of detection (LOD) of 33 pg mL�1 (3.32 � 10�11 mol L�1 or 0.033 mg L�1) which is well below the WHO guideline recommendation of 1 mg L�1 and 40 times better than the LOD obtained using the same antibody in an optimized conventional competitive ELISA assay. In addition, an acceptable accuracy, with recovery percentages close to 100% were found. <h3><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><br /></strong> </span></h3>
<p>La nanotecnología se ha desarrollado con alto impacto en las últimas décadas y su aplicación en detección precoz y toma de imágenes en la terapia contra el cáncer es un novísimo campo en desarrollo. Las imágenes centellográficas constituyen una herramienta importante que permite de una manera no invasiva, la visualización y cuantificación de la distribución de las nanopartículas radiomarcadas en el organismo. Dentro de la gran variedad de nanopartículas en desarrollo en los últimos 20 años, los liposomas han sido investigados como transportadores para un amplio espectro de compuestos, comprendiendo desde agentes quimioterapeuticos, antibióticos, medios de contraste, radionucleidos y agentes quelantes. El estudio y comprensión de cómo estos potenciales transportadores alcanzan y se acumulan en el tumor, su farmacocinética y distribución en los diferentes órganos puede lograrse uniendo un radionucleido a los diferentes clases de liposomas. Para la elección de dicho radionucleido deben considerarse sus propiedades fisicoquímicas y nucleares. Una alternativa muy atractiva es el 99mTc, que por ser emisor gamma puro (E= 140 keV), tener un período de semidesintegración de 6 horas, suficientemente largo para permitir lamarcación de moléculas, control, administración y adquisición de imágenes y suficientemente corto para trabajar en buenas condiciones de radioprotección es e o muy ampliamente en medicina nuclear. Además, por ser obten sistema generador 99Mo/99mTc, libre de portador, permite disponer del mismo con facilidad en el laboratorio. Otro nanovehículo de gran potencial son los Arqueosomas, constituidos por lípidos extraídos de arqueas lo cual le otorga una mayor resistencia estructural en entornos hostiles. Por tanto su aplicación se destaca en la liberación controlada de moléculas de acción como agentes quimioterapéuticos. En esos casos los arqueosomas tienen un rol como adyuvantes, pero en la presente tesis se plantea su novedosa aplicación como transportador de radionucleidos a blancos tumorales y la consiguiente adquisición de imágenes centellográficas de aplicación en diagnóstico. Los principales objetivos del trabajo fueron el diseño, desarrollo y caracterización fisicoquímica, así como también estudios de estabilidad biológica tanto como de dichos nanovehículos marcados con 99mTc. Se desarrolló la caracterización y marcación de distintos nanosistemas lipídicos. Se diseñaron dos clases fundamentales de li mas, los convencionales y los estéricamente estabilizados también se procedió al desarrollo de arqueosomas, de manera de evaluar de forma química y biológica cual es el mejor vehículo para el diagnóstico a través de centellografía. El modelo tumoral utilizado fue el de melanoma inducido por células B16F1 en ratones C57 black. Como parte esencial del trabajo fue necesario la sínte s en nuestro laboratorio del derivado de 3-N-Hidroxisuccinimidil carbonil-6-hidrazinopiridina clorhidrato (HYNIC) y de Bis Anhídrido del Ácido dietilentriaminopentacetico, cDTPA, dos agentes bifuncionales utilizados en la marcación indirecta de los nanovehículos. Para todos los nanosistemas estudiados y marcados con 99mTc, se obtuvo alta pureza radioquímica y estabilidad tanto como . Los sistemas liposomales y los arqueosomas desarrollados, demostraron tener captación selectiva por el modelo tumoral utilizado. Constituyendo así, a estos nanovehículos como potenciales candidatos a radiofármacos para la detección de tumor de melanoma a través de imágenes centellográficas</p>
