Abstract

The preparation of a new series of mixed-ligand oxorhenium complexes with ligands containing the SNN donor set (general formula RCH2CH2NHCH2CH2SH, where R = N(N2H5)2, pyrrolidin-1-yl, or N[CH(CH3)]2) and monodentate thiols as coligands is presented. When R = N[CH(CH3)]2, the tertiary nitrogen of the ligand does not participate in the coordination sphere of the metal, and a novel type of “2+1+1” [SN][S][S] complex is obtained. X-ray studies and detailed NMR assignments were performed for these novel mixed-ligand complexes.
